L&T Construction bags Rs 2,552 cr orders

Country’s leading multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Ltd on Tuesday said that its construction arm, L&T Construction, has secured orders worth Rs 2,552 crore across its transportation infrastructure business and water effluent treatment business segments.

“The construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 2,552 crore across its various business segments,” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on June 27, 2017.

It’s transportation infrastructure business and water effluent treatment business segments jointly bagged Rs 1,223 crore EPC order from Aurangabad Industrial Township Ltd (AITL) for construction of roads, drains, bridges, potable water network, sewage and common effluent treatment plants, sewerage and recycled water network, firefighting system and power distribution system including GIS substation, in the Bidkin industrial area of Aurangabad, the company said in a statement.

Besides, the company’s water effluent treatment business has also received another EPC order worth Rs 1,329 crore from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority for implementation of Surya Regional Bulk Water Supply Scheme for western sub region of Mumbai, it added.

The scope of work includes construction of intake structures, a 419 MLD water treatment plant, a clear water pump-house along with associated electro mechanical & instrumentation works, pipeline network, tunnels and storage structures at Mira Bhayandar & Vasai Virar, it said.

Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 1,699.15 apiece, down 1.39 per cent, from previous close on BSE at 12:32 hours.

Country’s leading multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Ltd on Friday said its construction arm has bagged orders worth Rs 1,286 crore across building & factories and heavy civil infrastructure business segments.

“The construction arm of L&T has won orders worth Rs 1,286 crores across its various business segments,” the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on January 27, 2017.

The company’s heavy civil infrastructure business has won orders worth Rs 1,071 crore including an order from Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) Company Ltd for design and construction of underground stations and associated tunnels for Package 2 in East-West corridor of the Ahmedabad metro project. The prestigious EPC contract comprises 2 underground stations at Gheekanta, Shahpur with associated bored tunnels from Kalupur to Shahpur (3.3 km) and Ramp for Package 2, it said.

Commenting on the orders win, L&T, Deputy Managing Director and President, S.N. Subrahmanyan said, “This is a significant win in the infrastructure space and we hope that this is a sign for many such projects involving vital infrastructure that are in the offing. This mandate is truly representative of our expertise in building metro systems as we are already building some major metro projects in India and abroad. We are confident of delivering as per the requirements of our clients.”

It has won another order from a prestigious client for the construction of an iron ore berth at Paradip, Odisha and a separate order has also been won for the construction of a technology-driven intake well structure using diaphragm wall technology at Purushotapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, the company said in a statement.

Besides, its building & factories business has bagged an order worth Rs 215 crore for the construction of a paint manufacturing facility at Vizag, Andhra Pradesh from a renowned client.

Meanwhile, shares of the company closed at Rs 1,439.65 apiece, down 0.68 per cent, from previous close on BSE.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd rallied nearly 1 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after its construction arm has bagged orders worth Rs 2,416 crore across building & factories, power transmission & distribution and smart world & communication business segments.

Cheering the news, shares of the company gained 1 per cent in intra-day trade to Rs 1,448 apiece on Bombay Stock Exchange at 11:37 hours.

In a similar fashion, stocks of the company surged 1.05 per cent to Rs 1,445.65 apiece, or 15.05 points, on National Stock Exchange at 11:36 hours.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 26,378.63, down 0.07 per cent, or 19.08 points, at 11:37 hours.
