The key domestic benchmark indices were trading marginally higher during the late noon trading session supported by buying in some blue-chip like Reliance Industries, Maruti and Adani Ports.
At 14:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 29963.35 up by 53.13 points or by 0.18 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 9256.05 up by 18.2 points or by 0.2 per cent.
In the volatile trade so-far, Sensex touched an intraday high of 30007.48 and an intraday low of 29817.69, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 9264.95 and an intraday low of 9215.4.
Investors were optimistic with the government achieving the upward revised target of tax collection for FY17 and reporting a total tax collection of Rs 17.10 lakh crore during 2016-17 — an increase of 18 per cent over 2015-16 and the highest tax collection in last six years.
However, any major gains were capped ahead of the central bank’s Monetary Policy Committee meeting outcome on Thursday, largely expecting it to maintain status quo on interest rates.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1493.00,-2.59%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 994.00,-1.53%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 290.75,-1.44%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 279.30,-0.85%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 194.60,-0.84%), among others.
Among the sectors, Realty index was at 1676.14 up by 70.41 points or by 4.38%. Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 411.90,+20.00%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 440.00,+9.47%), Unitech Ltd. (Rs. 5.44,+7.30%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 91.60,+4.99%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 420.50,+4.43%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3129 , shares advanced were 2010 while 955 shares declined and 164 were unchanged.
