Cardamom futures jumped over 2 per cent during evening trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators widened their positions in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, supported the uptrend in the domestic cardamom prices. At the MCX, cardamom futures for January 2017 contract is trading at Rs 1,357 per kg, up by 2.76 per cent, after opening at Rs 1,335, against a previous close of Rs 1,320.50. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1,362.10 (at 17:07 hours).
