Tata Power jumps near 4% on winning new order

Shares of Tata Power Company rose nearly 4 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company said its strategic engineering division, Tata Power SED, has bagged an order worth over Rs 200 crore from Ministry of Defence.

Following the announcement, shares of company gained as much as 3.68 per cent to hit intra-day high of Rs 75.95 apiece on Bombay Stock Exchange.

In a similar fashion, stocks of company were trading 2.39 per cent higher at Rs 74.90 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 26,466.84, up 117.74 points, or 0.45 per cent, at 11:25 hours.
